    Re: Artemis Fowl

lo que pasa es que Artemis si bien no tiene la publicidad del  harry potter la saga es bastante buena y no decrece con cada libro, por que no negaremosque muchos quedamos decepcionados del final que tubo el 7 libro

But when Artemis’s mother contracts a life-threatening illness, his world is turned upside down. The only hope for a cure lies in the brain fluid of the silky sifaka lemur. Unfortunately, the animal is extinct, due to a heartless bargain Artemis himself made as a younger boy.

Though the odds are stacked against him, Artemis is not willing to give up. With the help of his fairy friends, the young genius travels back in time to rescue the lemur and bring it to the present. But to do so, Artemis will have to defeat a maniacal poacher who has set his sights on new prey: Holly Short.

Artemis has arranged a meeting with Holly, Foaly, and Wing Commander Vinyáya on a glacier in Iceland to unveil his invention to stop global warming: the Ice Cube, which creates fake snow crystals that reflect heat. Artemis appears to be suffering from Atlantis Complex, the fairy equivalent of OCD, and is obsessed with numbers; he believes five is his "lucky number" and four to be death; Holly notices and questions him, but he brushes off her questions. Holly comments that Artemis looks "beaten". Things are going well, but during a demonstration of the Ice Cube, they are approached by an unidentified fairy space probe. Artemis suddenly mentally snaps, accusing Foaly of trying to steal his invention. Holly manages to subdue him with the mesmer, but they are attacked by the mysterious aircraft. The craft crash lands, hitting a shuttle and killing Commander Vinyáya and all the LEP backup, leaving only Holly, Foaly and Artemis stranded on the glacier.

The perpetrator is revealed to be Turnball Root, the deceased LEP commander Julius Root (deceased as of 'The Opal Deception')'s reprobate brother. From his prison cell deep in the underwater city in Atlantis, he has reprogrammed one of Foaly's space probes—the mysterious vessel that attacked Artemis and company—and the deadly amorphobots inside it. In a desperate plan to escape from prison and reunite with his beloved human wife, he is sending the probe to attack Atlantis so he can escape in the chaos with the help of the amorphobots.

Meanwhile, Artemis's bodyguard Butler is in Mexico. Artemis, who had grown paranoid as a result of the Atlantis Complex, had tricked him into traveling to Cancun by telling him his sister Juliet, now a famous wrestler with the nickname "Jade Princess", was in danger. Coincidentally, Juliet actually was in danger, and she and Butler barely escape a horde of zombie wrestling fans remotely mesmerized by Turnball. Despite having lost his magic through committing criminal acts, Turnball has found a way to restore his magic through eating a combination of mandrakes and rice wine.

Turnball then offers a hit team of criminal dwarfs a large sum of money to take out the Butlers. Luckily, Mulch Diggums is part of the team, and he betrays his fellow dwarfs and rescues Butler and Juliet. The three make their way to Iceland in their stolen shuttle.

Back in Iceland, Holly has destroyed the amorphobots that were after them with Artemis's Ice Cube, and she, Foaly, and Artemis have made a camp nearby. But Artemis is no longer Artemis. He thinks he is Orion, a gallant and chivalrous young man who finds Holly extremely attractive. Holly, Foaly, and Artemis/Orion find an escape pod jettisoned by the probe and decide to follow the probe. They follow it underwater and realize it is headed towards Atlantis, but have to abort the chase and head to the surface due to a lack of oxygen. On the way up, Holly is forced to sedate Artemis/Orion and Foaly so they take up as little oxygen as possible.

Back on the surface, Artemis is himself again—the act of Holly sedating him jolted him back into his own mind. The three are contacted by Commander Trouble Kelp, who officially forbids them to investigate the probe further but implies that they should. Mulch and the Butlers join up with Holly, Artemis, and Foaly. Artemis deduces that Turnball is behind the scheme and secures a signal so that they can track the villain's ship, which has just emerged from the wrecked Atlantis. However, they are captured by more amorphobots. Along with Turnball they travel to Venice, where Turnball finds his beloved human wife old and decrepit. He devises a strategy to make her young again—kidnap the demon warlock Number One and force him to restore his wife's youth with his magic. Artemis, Holly and the others try to apprehend him, but Turnball uses runes and black magic to force Artemis and Holly into servitude.

While Turnball attends to his wife, a commotion occurs, forcing the guard who is watching over Artemis, Foaly, the Butlers and Mulch to shock Artemis. Then Mulch provides a distraction long enough so that Foaly can release everyone from their prisons.

In Atlantis, Number One is to helping heal the casualties of the city's destruction when Holly, as a thrall to Turnball, persuades him to come on Turnball's ship. A fight ensues, and things are looking bad for everyone when Orion comes to the rescue. Since Artemis was shocked by the guard, his personality changed to Orion. Also while Artemis is affected by Turnball and the number four, Orion is not. He shoots and knocks out Holly who assumes Orion can't shoot (like Artemis) and he triumphs over Turnball and his cronies. However, it turns out Turnball has rigged his ship to explode. Turnball's wife finds out about his scheme to extend her life even more, but disapproves of the enslavement of innocents for her benefit; she instead volunteers to pilot the rigged ship away from the others. Artemis, Holly, Foaly, Mulch and the Butlers escape, while Turnball stays behind with his wife and they commit suicide together.

In the epilogue, Artemis is himself again and on a transport shuttle to the Argon clinic for therapy. Juliet is engaged in a wrestling match with a burly pixie guard, much to the entertainment of Mulch and the shuttle crew. Artemis and Foaly are teasing Holly about her recent date with Trouble Kelp, Butler calls Angeline Fowl. Mulch tells Butler that Juliet is being thrashed by the pixie. Butlers tells him to switch his bet to Juliet, and goes to watch the match, stating that he would love to watch the result of the match "after she stops faking".
